Spam Alert: Invitation to College Collaborative Networks

Computing Services and Systems Development (CSSD) has received reports that Pitt students, faculty, and staff have received email messages offering a "free membership" to College Collaborative Networks. The email message is addressed to "Dear Panthers".

CSSD recommends that you ignore and delete this email. It does not appear to be malicious, but there is very little information available about the service or the company behind it. CSSD further recommends that you avoid using College Collaborative Networks for any official University work.

As a general reminder, no legitimate organization, including the University of Pittsburgh, will ever solicit confidential information (such as credit card information and passwords) by phone or email. CSSD recommends that you do not reply to unsolicited emails or emails from unverifiable sources. You should also avoid clicking on links contained in such emails.
