BOO! Don't Miss Our Cyber Security Scarehouse and Costume Contest

Listen up guys and ghouls: In recognition of National Cyber Security Awareness Month, CSSD is hosting a Cyber Security Scarehouse for students in the William Pitt Union Assembly Room from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29.

Stop by for popcorn, candy, free T-shirts, spooky decorations, and a (scare)houseful of great security tips that will help make sure you don't fall victim to a hacker's tricks. And as far as treats go, did we mention that you can enter a drawing for a chance to win one of four Microsoft Surface RT tablets?

As you make your way through our Scarehouse, you'll pick up some great tips on spotting phishing scams, creating strong passwords, installing security patches, and protecting against malicious software. You might just also spot a zombie juggler, a witch balloon artist, and a spooky caricature artist. If you can find your way through the spider webs, we even have some spider stress balls and pinhole glasses you can grab.

Enter Our Technology-Themed Costume Contest for a Chance to Win a Microsoft Surface RT Tablet!

What's Halloween without costumes? Here's your chance to get tech-creative. We want to see your best technology-themed costume!

Entering is simple: Just post a photo of yourself in costume to your Facebook page or Twitter feed using the hashtag #cssdcostume. Be sure to make your Facebook post visible to "Public" so that we can find it! We'll review all entries and announce the winners on November 1.

Two lucky winners will each receive a Microsoft Surface RT tablet!

Bottom line: don't miss out on all the scary good fun. Be there or beware!
