Your University e-mail address consists of your University computing account username followed by @pitt.edu (for example, xyz84@pitt.edu). Your University e-mail address is used by the University for all official correspondence, so if you prefer to read your e-mail from a different address, it is important that you forward your University e-mail to that address. Refer to the E-mail Forwarding section of this page for details.
You can read your University e-mail online at any time and from any location simply by logging in to the my.pitt.edu Web portal, clicking the Webmail tab, and clicking View Mail. More than 100 e-mail kiosks are also located throughout the Pittsburgh campus to allow you to check mail or browse the Web between classes or activities.
The University’s Spam and Virus E-mail Filtering Service protects your Inbox from harmful viruses and annoying spam. Refer to the Spam and Virus Filtering section of this page for details on using the service.
