Non-Technical positions
- Office Assistant: Keep the office running smoothly. Provide administrative, customer service, and receptionist support, as well as help with clerical duties. Data entry, document management, electronic filing.
- Communication Assistant: Use your creative talents to help spread the word about IT services through our website, social media, and printed materials.
- Telephone Operator: Students will use the University Switchboard; a software application (softphone), to answer and redirect calls promptly and courteously.
- Lab Consultant: Be a trusted resource and friendly face in the Student Computing Labs. Take care of printers all around campus, answer questions related to the Labs, and provide great customer service.
- Technology Brand Ambassador: Be the bridge between Pitt IT and students. This includes informing, educating, identifying technology needs, taking part in campus events, and staying up to date on Pitt IT offerings.
Technical positions
- Drop-in Support Technician: Help students, faculty, and staff get connected, install software, and troubleshoot IT problems that come into our offices.
- Endpoint Technician: Help faculty and staff get connected, install software, and troubleshoot IT problems in their offices around campus.
- Junior Security Analyst: Responsible for evaluating and supporting security controls and alerts while working closely with other University departments.
- Salesforce Jr. Admin: The focus is to participate in creating features in Salesforce, working with senior team members, documenting defects, and implementing quality software solutions.

Additional Information
Student workers are covered by Worker’s Compensation and liability insurance. However, they are not eligible for other fringe benefits for faculty and staff (unemployment compensation, vacation, sick leave, tuition benefits, etc.).
You are eligible for student employment if you are:
- Enrolled for 6 or more credits
- Enrolled in a bachelor's degree or higher program at the University of Pittsburgh
- An undergraduate student, or a graduate student who is not primarily registered for dissertation/thesis credits
- Not on an 'academic' paid assignment (part-time faculty/instructors; GSA/GSR's, etc.)
