Installing the InCommon and UserTrust Certificates (Mac)

Overview

You will need to install an InCommon certificate and a UserTrust certificate if you plan to use Wireless PittNet or if you connect your computer to a wired network port in a residence hall or public area (like a classroom or conference room). These instructions explain how to install the certificates manually on your Mac. Once the certificates are installed, you will then need to configure your operating system using a separate help sheet.

Before installing the certificates and configuring your computer manually, visit technology.pitt.edu/wifi to learn how to complete these steps using an automated wizard. Note: The automated wizard will configure your computer to use Wireless PittNet, but it will not configure your computer to use Wireless-PittNet-Fast. You will need to connect to Wireless-PittNet-Fast manually.
