Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center
The Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center (PSC) is a joint project of the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University, together with Westinghouse Electric Company. It was established in 1986 and is supported by several Federal agencies, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and private industry.
Internet2
The University of Pittsburgh is an active member of the Internet2 (I2) Project. I2 is a collaborative effort to develop advanced Internet technology and applications vital to the research and education missions of higher education. More than 150 U.S. universities, working together with partners in industry and government, are leading the I2 project to develop new networking capabilities and advanced applications to enable research and education into the next century.
National Lambda Rail
The University of Pittsburgh is a member of the National LambdaRail. This network advances the research, clinical, and educational goals of its members and other institutions by establishing and maintaining a unique nationwide network infrastructure that is owned and controlled by the U.S. research community.
