Reminder: Not Expecting a Multifactor Authentication Login Request? Deny It.

Wednesday, March 21, 2018 - 16:04

Pitt Information Technology reminds you to use caution when responding to unsolicited login requests from Pitt Passport

Multifactor authentication, provided by Duo Security, adds another layer of security to your online accounts when using Pitt Passport. When you log in to Pitt Passport-protected services, you receive a multifactor authentication login request on your registered device in the form of a push notification, a phone call, or a passcode.

If you ever receive an unexpected multifactor authentication request not related to your login attempt, deny the request and report it to the Technology Help Desk right away. Reporting fraudulent access notifications helps protect your University Computing Account and other accounts.

To learn more, visit our multifactor authentication webpage.

Please contact the Technology Help Desk at 412-624-HELP (4357) if you have any questions regarding this announcement
