Web Conferencing Service
The University Web Conferencing Service, powered by WebEx, is a secure and convenient online solution for faculty and staff to host virtual meetings and collaborate with colleagues across campus or around the globe. The service supports Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.
Subscriptions to Web Conferencing are offered at reduced rates to University faculty and staff. The service is accessed through the Web Conferencing portal community at my.pitt.edu using your University Computing Account. You must subscribe to WebEx and obtain host access to hold meetings. You can easily invite anyone to participate in a meeting by email. Participants do not need to subscribe to the service.
Web Conferencing Products
Subscribers can select from up to four WebEx products to meet their virtual conferencing needs.
- Meeting Center: Meeting Center allows you to host virtual meetings and collaborate online with colleagues, just as if you were in the same room together. You can share a document, presentation, application, or your entire desktop. Attendees can view and use the applications on your computer during the meeting, even if their own computers don't have those applications. Chat with attendees online, conduct a quick poll to get feedback, annotate documents together, and use a variety of other helpful collaboration features. Integrated voice conferencing ensures everyone can easily contribute ideas, and you can use Webcams to personalize your meetings. You can even record the entire meeting so that it can be viewed later. Take an online tour >
