PittNet Updates May Require a Few Extra Steps to Connect

We are constantly working to enhance our Wireless PittNet service. This summer, we are upgrading the certificates that are used to connect to our network. Some devices will reconnect without any issue. However, please be aware that you may have to re-connect your computer, phone, or tablet to Wireless PittNet after August 15, 2015. You may also need to update your computer after August 15 if you connect to a wired network port in a residence hall or a public area (for example, a classroom or conference room). These changes will affect all University of Pittsburgh campuses.

Take These Steps if You Have Trouble Connecting After August 15, 2015

To ensure a smooth transition and uninterrupted network service, please refer to the steps below.

Wireless PittNet: From a Phone or Tablet

Some phones and tablets will reconnect to Wireless PittNet without your having to take any action at all. On other devices, a pop-up message similar to the one shown below may prompt you to trust or install a new certificate. If a prompt similar to the one shown below appears, trust the certificate. You should then be able to connect to Wireless PittNet.
