Network Maintenance to Affect More Buildings on Dec. 23-24

Network equipment will be upgraded on Friday, December 23rd beginning at 11:00 p.m.  The work is expected to be completed by 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 24th.

During the maintenance period, wired and wireless network service and telecommunications service will be unavailable for the following buildings on the Pittsburgh campus:

  • 128 North Craig St (Park Plaza)
  • 130 North Bellefield Ave
  • Allegheny Observatory
  • Barco Law Building
  • Biotech Center
  • Bouquet Gardens
  • Bridgeside Point (Cellomics)
  • Bridgeside Point II
  • Duratz Athletics Complex (aka Southside Athletics)
  • Forbes Tower
  • Frick Fine Arts Building
  • Hillman Cancer Center
  • Hillman Library
  • McGowan Institute
  • Mervis Hall
  • Parkvale Building
  • Plum Borough Research Center
  • Posvar Hall (aka Forbes Quad)
  • Sennott Square (aka Multipurpose Academic Ctr.)
  • Webster Hall (through 130 N. Bellefield)

This maintenance is necessary to enhance the stability and reliability of the network.

Pitt Passport The University Computing Account is the key to accessing online resources at Pitt. These resources include access to Office 365, My Pitt Email, campus computing lab PCs and many other technology services.
This account acts as a single online identifier for students, faculty, staff members and alumni.

My Pitt Video: Create a New Folder

Folders are used as a way to help organize sessions. Every session belongs to a folder and only users assigned to a folder can create, record, view or edit those sessions.

1.  Login to My Pitt Video and click the green "Create" drop-down menu at the top of the screen, then click "New Folder".


2.  Type in the Name of Folder and enter a description (optional).

My Pitt Video: How to Batch Upload Video Files (with Unison)

There are two different ways to upload already existing video files into Unison:

  • Upload from the New Session page (only allows one video file to be uploaded at a time).
  • Launching the editor in Composer (allows for multiple video/presentations files to be uploaded).

How to Upload video files from the New Sessions page:

1.  Click "All Folders" or "My Folders" on the left hand column and choose the Folder where the session will be created.

2.  Click the "Create" drop-down menu on the top panel after choosing your folder.
