Reminder: CourseWeb Maintenance Scheduled for Aug. 17-22

CourseWeb (Blackboard Learn), the University of Pittsburgh's Web-based learning management system, will be moved to a cloud-based, managed hosting environment during an extended maintenance period this August. The transition is currently scheduled to begin Wednesday, August 17 at 11:59 p.m. and will conclude by 8:00 a.m. on Monday, August 22. Access to CourseWeb will be unavailable during the maintenance period.

Moving CourseWeb to a cloud-based environment will increase efficiency, improve performance, and streamline future upgrades to deliver a constantly improving service. After the transition, CourseWeb will look and function as it does today.

PeopleSoft Mobile delivers a responsive and easy-to-use mobile interface that works seamlessly with the core functionality of the Student Information System.

Overview

Information Technology provides system administration and development support for Student Information System (PeopleSoft), a comprehensive suite of software specifically designed for higher education institutions. Authorized University staff use the system to manage the entire student lifecycle - from recruiting and admissions to student services through graduation - in a secure environment that provides Web-based access from any location.

PeopleSoft Extended Maintenance Scheduled for Jan. 7-8

The Student Information System (PeopleSoft) will be unavailable during an extended maintenance period from approximately 9:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7 through 7:00 a.m. Sunday, January 8. Although an extended maintenance period has been scheduled during these times, the system will be returned to service earlier if work is completed ahead of schedule. This maintenance is necessary to maintain the stability and reliability of the PeopleSoft system.

We are pleased to announce PeopleSoft Mobile, a new service that makes it faster and easier for students, faculty, and staff to access the most commonly used features of the Student Information System with their smartphone or tablet.

PeopleSoft Mobile delivers a responsive and easy-to-use mobile interface that works seamlessly with the core functionality of the Student Information System. You can use PeopleSoft Mobile to view your class roster, enter grades, and view advisees right from your smartphone or tablet. Your weekly schedule displays in a streamlined, easier-to-read design, and you can download it with just a few quick taps.

There are two ways to take advantage of PeopleSoft Mobile:

  1. Log in to My Pitt and click the PeopleSoft Mobile link
  2. Download the Pitt PS Mobile app from the Pitt App Store.

While PeopleSoft Mobile provides access to the most frequently used functions of the Student Information System, some features are not yet optimized for mobile devices. You can still access the full version of the Student Information System from your desktop or laptop by clicking the Faculty Center link at My Pitt (my.pitt.edu).
