Using MyResNet with Apple iOS 14 and Android 10 Devices

Turn off Private Addresses on your iOS 14, watchOS 7, and Android 10 devices to ensure you can continue to connect to MyResNet as you have prior to OS updates.

The next version of Apple’s mobile operating system includes a new feature called Private Addresses that is turned on by default. Android 10 devices have a similar feature that is also turned on by default.

Connecting to PittNet (Wi-Fi and Wired Networks)

PittNet provides fast, secure, and easy-to-use internet access from regional campus residence halls and academic buildings across campuses. MyResNet provides high-speed access from residence halls and University housing on the Pittsburgh campus.

Before You Get Started

To connect your Mac to PittNet Wi-Fi, you will need:

  • MacOS v10.8 or higher
  • Built-in Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi Adapter
  • Valid University Computing Account

PittNet (Wi-Fi): PittNet Updates May Require a Few Extra Steps to Connect

We are constantly working to enhance our PittNet Wi-Fi service. Due to past upgrades of the certificates that are used to connect to our network, you may need to take additional steps to connect. Some devices will reconnect without any issue.
