University Telephone Directory
Published every fall, the printed University of Pittsburgh Telephone Directory includes listings for individual faculty and staff members and departments on all five Pitt campuses. UPMC listings also are included. The directory is provided to all faculty and staff members and is for internal use only.
If your contact information is incorrect in the directory, please ask your department administrator to update your employee payroll record.
Verizon White Pages and Yellow Pages
CSSD coordinates updates to the listings in the Verizon White Pages and Yellow Pages. Use the online Verizon Directory Request (link to new form) to request entries for departments and individual physicians or dentists. The following listing options are available:
White Pages
- Under the UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH listing, departments may choose to list name(s) and phone number(s).
- Departments and individual physicians and dentists will be listed alphabetically.*
Yellow Pages
- Departments or individual physicians/dentists may choose to be listed alphabetically under a Yellow Page category.
* The University of Pittsburgh is unable to list UPMC phone numbers in the White Pages or Yellow Pages. Those listings must be handled by UPMC staff.
Broadcast Messages
Reach voice mail users in the University with voice mail announcements and promotional messages. Messages must be of general interest and may target faculty and staff or students. Messages run Tuesday through Saturday.
The telephone message indicator lights will be lit whenever you receive new voice mail messages, including broadcast messages containing University of Pittsburgh announcements. (If your telephone does not have a message indicator light, you will hear an interrupted dial tone or stutter tone to indicate you have new messages.) The message waiting indicator light is activated for all new messages and cannot be disabled for individual telephone extensions or for particular types of messages.
