Zoom Licensing Changes Take Effect July 1

Tuesday, June 25, 2024 - 14:58

Changes to the University’s licensing agreement with Zoom are set to take effect July 1, 2024. The changes involve the Premium services (large capacity meetings and webinars) options for Zoom licensing through the University.

The Zoom license add-ons for these premium services will be available in PantherExpress starting July 1. Pricing is as follows:

  • A premium Large Capacity Meeting license is $572 per license, per year. Large Capacity meetings are for 301 to 500 participants.

  • A premium Webinar license is $683 per license, per year. These are meetings with additional features for 1 to 500 participants.

Costs are the same regardless of whether the license being purchased is a shared license or an individual license. There is a Meetings and Webinars comparison chart available for reference from Zoom Support.

Large 500 meeting and Webinar 500 add-ons will be removed from any licensed Pitt Zoom users on July 15 who have not purchased the licenses through PantherExpress. When purchasing licenses in Panther Express, users will need to specify which user accounts are to receive the licenses.

Users who do not wish to purchase licenses for Zoom are encouraged to use Microsoft Teams for standard meetings and webinars.

Thank you for your support in helping us to ensure that Zoom continues to meet the teaching, learning, and research needs of the University community. Please contact the Technology Help Desk at +1-412-624-HELP (4357) if you have any questions regarding this announcement.
