Kerberos Authentication

Kerberos is a protocol designed to allow secure authentication over a non-secure network. Pitt IT provides the Kerberos 5 realm UNIV.PITT.EDU to all University users for use in applications, logging on to workstations and servers, or any other service that supports Kerberos authentication. This can be used to authenticate any University of Pittsburgh user with an active University Computing Account.

Students can check their class schedules for both the current term and previous term online via My Pitt.

Request Access to the Student Data Mart

Overview

Requests for access to the University of Pittsburgh’s Student Mart can be submitted using an online form. The designated Security Contact for your area may submit a request for access on your behalf. If they do, you will receive an email message asking you to review and approve, by signing, the request. Complete the following steps to review and sign the request.

Note: These instructions apply to all requests for access to the Student Mart, including requests for restricted access.

To connect your Mac to PittNet Wi-Fi, you will need:

  • MacOS v10.8 or higher
  • Built-in Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi Adapter

Request General Ledger Mart Access

Overview

Access to the General Ledger Mart is governed by a Federated Authorization process, ensuring users have access only to the data required to fulfill their University responsibilities.
